Professor Joanna Rokita-Jaśkow Awarded the Title of Professor

On 2 June 2026, the President of the Republic of Poland conferred upon Professor Joanna Rokita-Jaśkow the title of Professor of Humanities in the discipline of Linguistics.

Professor Rokita-Jaśkow is a specialist in language pedagogy, psycholinguistics, and sociolinguistics. Her main research interests focus on foreign and second language acquisition in childhood, as well as the education and professional development of foreign language teachers.

She is the author of more than 90 publications issued by prestigious national and international publishers. Her most recent works include the monograph The Ecology of Pre-Primary Foreign Language Learning (Multilingual Matters, 2025) and the edited volume Global Challenges Facing Early Language Teaching (Routledge, 2026). She has also served as the principal investigator and expert in several national and international research grants, including projects funded by the National Science Centre, Erasmus+, the Spanish Ministry of Education, and the Lithuanian Grant Agency. Professor Rokita-Jaśkow has supervised five doctoral dissertations and more than 180 master’s theses.

Professor Rokita-Jaśkow has been affiliated with the University and the Institute of English Studies for nearly thirty years. During this time, she has held several important academic and administrative positions, including Chair of the Linguistics Discipline Council, Head of the Department of English Language Education, and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philology from 2016 to 2019.

Beyond the University, she is a founding member and Vice-President of the Early Language Learning Research Association (ELLRA.org), as well as Vice-President of the Polish Association of Modern Languages (poltowneo.org).
