1st International Student and Doctoral Research Conference
Teaching Foreign Languages in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Challenges, Perspectives
Advancements in generative artificial intelligence present both opportunities and new challenges in the teaching and learning of foreign/second languages. In this context, we invite undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students to examine how AI technologies are influencing language education today.
Conference Overview
Organised by the Student-Doctoral Research Society SNEC, based in the Institute of English Studies, University of the National Education Commission, Kraków, this international conference will be held online on June 12–13, 2025. The event is open to students, doctoral candidates, lecturers, and foreign/second language teachers interested in the applications of AI in language pedagogy.
Key Themes and Topics
We welcome submissions that investigate a range of topics including, but not limited to:
- Innovative AI-assisted language teaching and learning practices
- AI-assisted didactic material development
- AI-assisted assessment and personalisation
- Teacher professional development & AI literacy
- AI vs technical and ethical dilemmas
- Empirical research in language teaching methodology
- Additional topics – other areas relevant to the field of foreign/second language education as explored by philology students.
Submission Guidelines
The call is open to students and doctoral candidates engaged in research on foreign/second language didactics and AI in education.
- Presenters should base their submissions on research in the field.
- Please submit your abstract by April 28, 2025: https://forms.gle/2P5KLE9pUwMwjUkV7
- Certificates will be issued to students who actively participate by presenting their research at the conference.
Registration and Participation
Participation is free, but prior registration is required.
- Students who do not present, lecturers, and foreign/second language teachers can participate passively. Please visit the SNEC website to register.
- The conference will be conducted in English.
