Happy 4th of July!

This year’s celebration of the 249th anniversary of the United States’ independence took place at the Polish 2nd Corps Club in Kraków, with musical entertainment provided by the U.S. Army 1st Armored Division Band from Fort Bliss, Texas.

During the ceremony, Consul General Erin Nickerson was honored with the Honoris Gratia badge in recognition of her contributions to the City of Kraków and its residents.

The celebration also served as an opportunity to thank the Consul for her three-year mission in Poland and her collaboration with the Institute of English Studies at UKEN, including her support of the English Language Fellow program. As part of this initiative, Beth E. Barry—an actress, teacher, and TESOL expert from Hawaii—conducted academic classes for IFA students during the 2022/23 academic year.
