Call for Contributions: Special Issue on Teaching Young Language Learners – Journal of Language and Culture in Education

Dr Isaak Papadopoulos, Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, International Hellenic University, Greece & Dr Werona Król-Gierat, Institute of English Studies, The University of the National Education Commission, Kraków, Poland invite contributions to a special issue. This is in honour of Dr Vera Savic who retires in October.During her career, Vera Savic has made a significant contribution to early language learning research. To celebrate her work, the editors will bring together a collection of scholarly papers on young language learners.

Scope and Topics

  • The editors invite submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
  • Innovative Teaching Methods: Exploration of novel teaching techniques and strategies tailored for young language learners.
  • Curriculum Development: Designing age-appropriate curricula that enhance language acquisition among young learners.
  • Technological Integration: The role of digital tools and resources in supporting language learning for children.
  • Cognitive and Linguistic Development: Studies on how young learners process and acquire new languages.
  • Classroom Management: Effective classroom management strategies for creating a conducive language learning environment.
  • Multilingual Education: Approaches to teaching young learners in multilingual settings.
  • Cultural Considerations: Incorporating cultural awareness and sensitivity into language teaching practices.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Innovative methods for assessing language proficiency and progress in young learners.
  • Teacher Training and Professional Development: Preparing educators to effectively teach young language learners.
